How Much Should I Feed My Cat?

Cats need different calories based on weight, life stage, and activity. The RER formula (70 × weight0.75 kg) estimates resting energy; multiply by a factor for kittens (2.5), adults (1.4), seniors (1.1), or neutered adults (1.0) to get daily calorie needs.

Use your food’s kcal per gram (dry ~4, wet ~1) to convert to grams. Check labels and split portions over 2 meals for adults, 3–4 for kittens. Always adjust for body condition and vet guidance.
